Overall Management of the company • Founded Genteel, a Menswear fashion brand aimed at showcasing Kenyan Cultural heritage. • Genteel grew to receive international presence with features in multiple press briefings in Kenya, Berlin, Germany, Switzerland & UK. We participated in the London Fashion Week 2021 with support from British Council Kenya. • I managed a team of 11 providing support & training for sales, customer management, operations and SCR activities at the peak of Covid. • Genteel was responsible for supplying corporate uniforms to notable companies such as Kenya Lighting Industries, Aspira, Ministry of Sports,Culture & Heritage, British Council, Wigot Hotel, Athletics Kenya, Safaricom and Muthaiga Golf Club. • Built strong client relationships leading to referrals and repeat business. • Grew our distribution network from 0 stores to 2 physical stores & 3 online distribution platforms. • Managed a team of 7 employees & created a value chain network of more than 40 artisans, helping to ensure financial inclusion in underserved-low income areas like Kibera. • Amongst one of our greatest achievements involved dressing the Kenyan Athletes who were representing the Country in the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia, 2018 and Dressing H.E Uhuru Kenyatta for the Magical Kenya Open Golf Tournament 2022. Fundraising for the company • Pitching to several investors and cumulatively raising $80,000 in both debt & equity funding. I oversaw growth in revenue from $7,000 in 2017 to $210,000 cumulatively in the last 5 years. • Secured a grant from British Council Kenya to help cushion the business against COVID 19 effects. We delivered more than 11,000 masks to both underserved communities and retail.
