About Candidate
General Motors launched the LS2 engine in 2005 as part of the Generation IV small-block lineup. With a displacement of 6.0 liters, it was designed to replace the LS1 and offered noticeable performance gains. The LS2 came standard in several performance cars, including the Corvette C6, Cadillac CTS-V, and Pontiac GTO. Built with an aluminum block and heads, it produced around 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque while maintaining excellent reliability. The engine featured a 10.9:1 compression ratio, revised camshaft design, and upgraded internals. These refinements made it not only powerful but also adaptable for tuning. Today, the LS2 remains popular in performance communities for swaps, builds, and aftermarket modifications.
