Retro Bowl

About Candidate

Retro Bowl was designed as a tribute to the classic sports games that many gamers grew up playing on early consoles such as the NES. Instead of focusing on ultra-realistic graphics or complicated gameplay mechanics, the developers chose a retro aesthetic and straightforward controls. This design philosophy allows players to jump into the game quickly without spending hours learning complicated systems.

At its core, Retro Bowl combines two main elements: on-field football gameplay and off-field team management. Players take on the role of a team’s head coach and general manager. This means they are responsible not only for calling plays and controlling the offense during games but also for managing players, signing free agents, dealing with the media, and keeping fans happy.

The result is a game that feels both nostalgic and surprisingly deep. While the visuals are simple, the decisions players make throughout the season can greatly impact their team’s success.
