About Candidate
Ochieng Oneko is a British-born Independent Kenyan filmmaker. He has been a Docubox grantee and a directing fellow in the Some Fine Day Pix program. He received a BFA in film with a major in directing at EICAR (the international film and television school of Paris). He returned to Nairobi in 2021 and has since made several independent short films that have garnered international attention, screening DIFF and AFRIFF.

Education
I recieved a BFA in film with a major in directing at EICAR (the international film and television school of Paris). During my studies I worked on more than 30 student productions; doing everything from writing and directing to griping and being a production assistant.
I recieved a Diploma in film and animation from Buskerd Folkehogskole in Norway where i got the chance to make documentaries, music videos and work on photography projects.
Work & Experience
At a Nairobi production house, I provided assistance to work within the the production department. Facilitating the shoots of ads for brands such as Airtel, Safaricom, Venus ETC
Voice dubbing for Indian soap operas on Zeeworld
Filamujuani is an organization based in Nairobi that facilitates film training programs for youth from underprivileged communities. I developed a syllabus and trained over 150 youth on film directing
SOME FINE DAY Pix is a hub where exceptional Kenyan filmmakers meet, hone their skills, team-up across departments and eventually produce their own short films. I am in the 2024/2025 Cohort. I directed, co-produced and edited a film entitled Sintofahamu.
