SUMMARY
1. Swallows and Amazons

Introduces the Walker children — John, Susan, Titty and Roger — on holiday in the Lake District. They camp on Wild Cat Island and meet the Blackett sisters, Nancy and Peggy (“the Amazons”), forging a friendship through imaginative sailing and “pirate” adventures.

2. Swallowdale

After their boat Swallow is damaged, the Walkers and Blacketts set up a new base at Swallowdale, a hidden valley. They explore, climb, and learn resourcefulness while planning their next exploits.

3. Peter Duck

A story-within-a-story, this high-seas adventure follows the children on a treasure hunt with the old sailor Peter Duck. Pirates and storms test their courage in an imagined voyage.

4. Winter Holiday

A winter setting introduces two new friends, Dick and Dorothea. The children plan an Arctic “expedition” on the frozen lake, culminating in a dramatic rescue.

5. Coot Club
