Job Description

As our Content & Brand Storyteller, you’ll own our social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, X & Facebook)  end to end. You’ll bring the ideas, set the calendar, plan and run shoots, edit to a high standard, publish, and report on performance. You’ll also produce product photos and short videos for the website, email, sales, and YouTube, working closely with the Head of Marketing for approvals.

Execution → Execution

  • Build the monthly social plan: calendar, shot lists, schedules, and permissions.
  • Carry work end-to-end: scout, shoot (photo/video), edit, subtitle, export, and publish on time.
  • Protect the brand: apply voice and visuals confidently within clear guardrails.
  • Coordinate smoothly with our cafés, roastery, and partners to keep shoots on track.

Social Accounts (Instagram, TikTok, X & Facebook)

  • Own the calendar, scheduling, and publishing.
  • Plan and run shoots across locations – often solo and on the ground.
  • Create short-form video and stills that are on-brand and accessible (subtitles), optimised per platform.
  • Develop repeatable series (partner spotlights, brew tips, behind-the-scenes); refine hooks, covers, and the first three seconds to lift watch-through and saves.

 

 

Multichannel Content (Web, Email, YouTube & Sales)

  • Produce product photos and short videos to channel specs and brand quality.
  • Deliver tidy exports and thumbnails; hand off assets ready for teams to use.
  • Build lightweight templates/toolkits to speed future work.

 

 

Reporting & Learning

  • Maintain a clean asset library (naming, backups, usage rights).
  • Track performance metrics; share learnings and iterate.
  • Manage logistics end-to-end: scheduling, checklists, batteries/cards, consent forms; meet deadlines consistently.

 

 

Experience & Skills

  • A strong portfolio of social-first photo/video (Reels/Shorts) and product photography, with examples that drove results (engagement, watch-through, saves).
  • Confident shooter-editor on phone and mirrorless cameras; CapCut or Premiere Pro for video, Lightroom and Photoshop for stills.
  • Audio and colour basics: clean dialogue, consistent white balance, simple grades; subtitles and text-on-video for accessibility.
  • Lighting and composition for products in natural or simple studio setups.
  • Comfortable using social scheduling platforms (or native schedulers) with a strong grasp of aspect ratios, cover frames, captions, and export settings.
  • Understand measurement fundamentals – engagement rate, watch-through, saves and shares; UTM basics; simple A/B tests on hooks, formats, and timing.
  • Experience running shoots with shot lists, permissions and releases, organised file naming, backups, and usage rights.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for specialty coffee (or the hunger to learn fast).
  • Familiarity with the Kenyan coffee and hospitality landscape is a plus.
