Main Responsibilities
● Study creative briefs and determine requirements
● Participate in campaign ideation and content development for online and
offline channels
● Write, edit and publish content for offline and online platforms
● Write and edit short form articles for blogs, newsletters and content for email
marketing
● Develop and own the monthly content calendar and work collaboratively with
the design team to develop the visuals
● Develop audio-visual content, from content strategy, conceptualising, and
scripting, up to post-production and publishing
● Research markets and industries to create content that is innovative and
original
● Collaborate with the other departments to develop pitch proposals and
execute innovative content ideas
Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or relevant experience.
● Proven 6+ year work experience as a Content Writer and / or Copywriter.
Agency experience preferred.
● Excellent writing and editing skills in English and Kiswahili for a B2B and B2C
● Excellent understanding of digital marketing strategies including SEO, email
marketing, social and web analytics
● Experience doing research using multiple sources and deriving insights from
data to inform content development
● Ability to handle tight deadlines
● Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
● Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
and multi-task
