To achieve this objective, we have built a trusted payment infrastructure that allows consumers and businesses (African and International) to make and receive payments in a convenient borderless manner.

The Role: We’re seeking a Manager, Branding and Storytelling, your primary focus is to tell the brand story of Flutterwave in a way that benefits the company and improves positive brand perception with key stakeholders. You should have an exceptional understanding of communication strategy, social media, pop culture, and content creation. Workload will be high and varied, so you must be able to multitask across various projects.

Focus on expanding our user base by leveraging both creative and analytical thinking. A deep understanding of various corporate and product marketing strategies, such as targeted email campaigns and impactful product announcements, is essential. Your primary objective will be to develop and execute the most effective plans to position and promote our brand and products for maximum profitability.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be Like

  • Develop a Marketing and Communications strategy aligned with Flutterwave’s goals and mission
  • Prioritize and deliver marketing activities, identifying and budgeting for external resources as needed
  • Create and manage marketing collateral and materials for Sales and Product teams
  • Own and drive social media and PR activity, ensuring consistent brand messaging and tone
  • Identify opportunities to raise Flutterwave’s profile through events, partnerships, and industry frameworks
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to analyze data, create insights, and inform campaign and partnership strategies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure aligned marketing efforts
  • Develop creative story ideas and leads that support Flutterwave’s mission and strategic goals
  • Utilize industry reports, social media mentions, and more to uncover story opportunities and develop engaging ways to share them
  • Collaborate with the Storytelling Team to develop a messaging framework and ensure consistent brand voice across all content
  • Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders and understand external audience needs to ensure effective communications
  • Copyedit and refine written content to ensure consistency with Flutterwave’s brand identity and style guide
  • Develop a wide variety of written content, including scripts, social media posts, newsletters, and more
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop multimedia-rich content for digital channels and earned media
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as project management, reporting, and maintaining efficient workflows

Required competency and skillet to be a waver

  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Communications or similar field is a plus
  • Minimum 7+ years experience as a Communications Specialist, PR Strategist, Product Marketing Manager, Brand Manager or similar role
  • An understanding of conventions and purposes of specific marketing processes and methods
  • Strong ability to mentor, develop, and motivate team members. Strong decision-making skills that inspire confidence and trust among team members.
  • An understanding of the conventions and ‘best practice’ of specific social media platforms
  • Broad understanding of social and digital media
  • Experience of using scheduling tools (including HootSuite, TweetDeck, Buffer and SproutSocial)
  • Intimate knowledge and understanding of SEO and Analytics
  • Desire to continually evolve your personal understanding of marketing and social media trends
  • Background in design and copywriting is a plus
  • Experience in market analysis
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns)
