Reuters, a global leader in trusted news and information, is launching the Reuters News Accelerator Program (RNAP), an intensive program designed to bring talented local journalists into our global newsroom and accelerate their careers with us.
RNAP is launching with a cohort in sub-Saharan Africa, and our aim is to have the program focus on a new region each year.

The Senior Visuals Producer – Sub-Saharan Africa is a part of the Reuters News Accelerator Program.
Reuters is seeking an experienced journalist and team leader to join the Africa visuals team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be part of a team of producers and camera operators, covering the Sub-Saharan region.
About the Role:
As our Senior Visuals Producer – Sub-Saharan Africa, you will:
- Win breaking news stories.
- Lead news planning including for major events
- Demonstrate a keen eye for multimedia storytelling and the ability to edit video footage within tight deadlines.
- Work as part of a multimedia team covering events, from planning to fieldwork.
- Coordinate between Visuals and Text teams.
- Represent agency video internally and externally, including client visits.
- Collaborate closely with senior producers in the region.
About You:
To be our Senior Visuals Producer, Sub-Saharan Africa, you will likely have:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in agency and/or broadcast television newsgathering.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Thorough understanding of the latest digital visual technologies for filming.
- Willingness to travel on assignment at short notice.
- Fluent English and Swahili are preferred.
