About me

What makes a design worth stopping for?

For me, it’s not just looking good — it’s making people feel something. A book cover that makes a child pick it up. A brand that feels so consistent you trust it before you know why.

I’m Jesse Young Natembeya, a Graphic Designer and Visual Storyteller based in Nairobi, Kenya, and the founder of Jesse Young Studios. I create brand graphics, social media content, book covers, editorial layouts, illustrations, and digital campaigns for commercial brands and independent creators.

My flagship project, Hot Nairobi Baddies — Boss Babe Edition, was independently published from concept to print — written, designed, and produced by me. I’ve also created brand visuals for Ecobana, and Baridi Brew.

I work fast, I care about details, and I design with intention. Currently open to freelance, contract, and full-time creative roles.

BA in Film Production and Animation
Bachelor's Degree Ongoing - Present I hold a Certificate in Graphic Design & CorelDRAW from St. Francis of Assisi Technical & Computer College, where I trained in vector artwork, composition, typography, and digital design fundamentals. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production & Animation at Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU), with coursework in film production, animation, visual storytelling, composition, and creative production. I completed Year 1 and am progressing to Year 2. I've also completed AI & Digital Creative Skills Training at Tekwetu AI Workshop, covering AI tools, AI-assisted content creation, and modern creative workflows. I've also taken part in multiple workshops to hone up my skills overtime.

Hot Nairobi Baddies — Boss Babe Edition Author · Creative Director · Lead Designer A premium Kenyan children's activity book and graphic novel combining financial literacy, storytelling, illustration, and editorial design. I took the project from initial concept through complete design, print preparation, and physical production — writing, illustrating, laying out, and managing the entire publication independently.
